Late Night Bus Crash In Southern Missouri Injures 17
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a late night bus crash Tuesday in a small town near the Missouri-Arkansas border led to injuries for 17 passengers, which included 14 juveniles from the Koshkonong School District.
The crash occurred on Highway 99, a half mile north of Thomasville, Mo., located in Oregon County.
A 2009 Bluebird bus driven by Victoria Smith, 51, West Plains, traveled off the road around 11:15 p.m. The bus crossed the roadway several times, striking several trees and coming to a rest on its passenger side.
The highway patrol said all but one person — a 17-year-old male — had minor injuries. The highway patrol exempts the names of juveniles.
Taylor York, 26; Tyler Wiggs, 25; and Steven Kyler, 18, were adult passengers and had minor injuries.
The bus was totaled.
