Jury Rules King Shooting Was Justifiable Homicide
A jury of six Crawford County residents concluded Tuesday that the shooting of Justin King, 28, Bourbon, was a justifiable homicide.
The ruling came after a coroner's inquest at the Crawford County Courthouse.
King, a Black and Filipino man, was shot by his White neighbor Nov. 3, 2021 at the Lakewood Mobile Home Park in Bourbon.
Jury members were shown video evidence from inside King's home and outside the neighbor's home the day of the shooting, ultimately deciding that King's killing was justifed under Missouri's castle doctrine law.
