Iron County Jail Escapees Captured

All three men who escaped from the Iron County Jail on Jan. 16 have been captured.

Tracy Brown, 57, was arrested on Jan. 20 in Carrizozo, N.M.

Dwight Abernathie, 36, was arrested during a shoplifting attempt in Arvada, Colo.

Samuel Gillam, 35, was arrested at the Salvation Army Homeless Shelter in Denver.

Abernathie and Gillam were arrested and transported to local jails. The Daily Journal said they will be extradited back to Iron County.

The U.S. Marshals led the search for the escapees, who used a block wall to break free.

Abernathie was being held for assault.

Brown was in custody for burglary.

Gillam was being held on a kidnapping charge.

New charges await all three.
