The Herbalist’s Edge Opens In Downtown Sullivan

A new store has opened in downtown Sullivan looking to bring all-natural products as alternatives to care product needs.

The Herbalist’s Edge, 118 West Main St., is owned and operated by Jayme Key and his mother Tracy Meyer, with day-to-day storefront assistance from Derek Payne, the uncle of Jayme.

“We provide the community with natural options for health and beauty,” said Jayme Key. “Products include anything from lotions and soaps to natural lip balms, face scrubs, bath bombs and so much more.”

The store held a soft opening two weeks ago and is now in full operation six days a week, with most of the raw material used to manufacture the products sourced locally. Only five to 10 percent coming from outside the local area.

There products include body wash, shampoos, lotions, bath bombs, oils, teas, CBD and Delta, a diluted form of THC with half the effect. It is used by the public for sleep/food control and other types of health issues.

Key, who said said they started out making beard oils, sold his share of a restaurant in Alabama to get into the care products business.

Key grew up in St. Charles County. His mother moved to Sullivan and he soon followed.

Asked why they chose downtown Sullivan for their location, Key said it makes sense to be a part of the community they live in.

“We live here and we’re local,” he said. “It makes sense for us. “

The store has been received very well from the community and Key said they haven’t had negative reviews.

“Half of our customers have been telling us Sullivan needed this type of store here,” Key said. “They are happy that we’ve opened.”

The business is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
