Cierra R. Schobl, 25, Sullivan, and Hannah M. Watson, 27, Gray Summit, had minor injuries after their vehicle was struck from behind.

The highway patrol said Schobl was slowing down in the eastbound lane near the 248 mile marker.

A 2000 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by Ryker D. Miller, 18, Alhambra, Ill, was distracted and struck the rear of Schobl’s 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe.

Schobl was wearing a seat belt, while Watson was not.
