Cuba Woman Seriously Injured Falling From Truck

Sullivan Police are investigating the serious injury of a Cuba woman after she fell out of a moving truck Saturday, April 1.

According to Sullivan Police, Emma Nelson, 22, was riding with several others in the back of a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado at 1073 East Vine Street at 11:35 p.m.

The truck was reportedly operated by Connor Gill, 18, Sullivan. The truck approached a curve and Nelson fell out onto the roadway.

Nelson was treated by members of Sullivan Fire District and Missouri Baptist Ambulance EMS at the scene.

Nelson was then transported by Missouri Baptist Ambulance to an ARCH Helicopter where she was flown to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis with serious injuries.

Sullivan Police did not have an update on her condition at press time and further investigation into the accident was ongoing.
