Building Lease And Patrol Vehicle Bid Scheduled For Council

An ordinance extending a lease with Aerofil Technology Incorporated for lease of two city facilities and approval of a bid for two new Sullivan Police Patrol vehicles toped the regular meeting of the Sullivan City Council Tuesday night, December 7.

Sullivan City Admibistrator J.T. Hardy was scheduled to present bids for the purchase of two-2022 Dodge Durango Pursuit vehicles.

Sullivan Police Chief Patrick Johnson and Sgt. Jack Allen reported to the council that only one bid was received for the vehicles from Behlmann Automotive, St. Louis in the amount of $81,966 with a trade in of a 2009 Ford Explorer, $3,000 bringing the total bid to $78,966.

The delivery of the vehicles was expected by mid March.

The Police Department reported that the city also qualifies for 2022 Dodge Durangos through the State of Missouri bidding process at a cost of $35,233.34 through Landmark Dodge of Independence, Mo., which is closer to the budgeted amount.

The department is seeking approval from the council to proceed with the State of Missouri bid.

One proposed ordinance was before the council which would extend the lease of two buildings to Aerofil Technology Inc.

Ord. 3938, would approve a one-year lease with ATI for the use of two, city owned buildings located along Airport Rd., for $6,250 per month.

ATI is currently leasing the buildings from the City of Sullivan which would continue the agreement for another year if approved.

The council did have closed session scheduled for  real estate, personal and litigation.
