Beaufort Man Twice Breaks Into Ex’s Home

A Beaufort man has been charged after he allegedly broke into his ex-wife’s home twice within a few hours and threatened her and another victim while armed with a knife.

Kenneth Lane, 45, has been charged with violation of a court order and unlawful use of a weapon.

His bond was set at $50,000.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the victim said Lane broke into her Lonedell home July 6 by removing a screen from a window. He fled the residence and deputies were unable to find him.

A few hours later, Lane broke in again. Deputies found him inside a bedroom.

Lane allegedly made comments about harming the victim and another witness.
