Four Killed in Fiery Collision On Interstate 44

Four people were killed in a fiery collision on Interstate 44 in Crawford County on June 15.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said two Bourbon residents and two Elizabeth, Ark., residents died at the scene.

According to the patrol, the crash happened around 12:57 p.m. at the 221 mile marker.

A 2004 Workhorse W22, driven by a 67-year-old Arkansas man, was traveling westbound. The vehicle crossed the median and into the eastbound lane of a 2015 Nissan Murano, driven by a 65-year-old Bourbon man.

A 66-year-old Arkansas woman and a 64-year-old Bourbon woman were occupants.

Traffic was affected for hours as emergency personnel shut down the eastbound lanes of Interstate 44.
