Four Ejected In Crawford County Crash, Two Suffer Serious Injuries

A 17-year-old Steelville girl and a 22-year-old Sullivan man suffered serious injuries Thursday evening after all four occupants of a vehicle were ejected during a rollover crash in Crawford County.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:57 p.m. Aug. 13 on Route E, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The patrol reported that the 17-year-old girl was driving a 2006 Honda Accord southbound when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected and returned to the road before crossing the center line and leaving the roadway again.

The Honda struck an embankment and overturned, ejecting the driver and all three passengers.

None of the four occupants were wearing a safety device, according to the crash report.

The driver suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

A 22-year-old Sullivan man also suffered serious injuries and was flown by Air Evac 18 to Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

An 18-year-old Steelville man suffered moderate injuries, while a second 22-year-old Sullivan man suffered minor injuries. Both were transported by ambulance to Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan.
