Crawford County Projects Included In STIP

Crawford County has 11 road and bridge projects included in the Missouri Department of Transportation’s 2024-2028 Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP).

Only one of the projects is scheduled to be awarded this year.

The projects are a mix of bridge rehabilitations and improvements, resurfacing and pavement improvements.

The state is set to award the first contract in October, which is 19 miles of pavement resurfacing on Interstate 44 from the Phelps County line to the Franklin County line.

Nearly $10.5 million of the funding will come from the federal government and another $1.1 million from the state.

Other projects include:

-Bridge rehabilitation over I-44 including Highway F and Highway H. The state has allocated nearly $600,000.

An award date is scheduled for March 2024.

-Bridge réhabilitation over the Little Bourbeuse River on the South Outer Road. It includes $542,000 in federal funds and $136,000 in state funds.

An award date is scheduled for March 2024.

-Pavement improvement from Highway 19 to Highway 32 in Iron County.

It includes 20 miles of improvement. Funding includes $658,000 in federal funds and $164,000 from the state.

The award date is in 2024.

-Pavement improvement from west of the Washington County line to the Big River in St. Francois County.

It includes another 20 miles. More than $7.7 million will come from federal money and $1.9 from the state.

The award is not until 2027.

-Bridge improvement over I-44 on Beamer Lane. It comes with $150,000 in federal funds and $37,000 in state money. The award date is 2025.

-Bridge improvement over I-44 on Highway C. It has $688,000 in federal funds and $172,000 in state funds. The award date is 2025.

-Bridge improvement over I-44 on Highway FF. It has $502,000 in federal money and $126,000 in state money. The award date is 2025.

-Bridge rehabilitation over Dry Creek on Highway HH. It has $957,000 in federal funds and $239,000 in state funds.

-Bridge improvement over Boone Creek on Highway J. It has $962,000 in federal funds and $241,000 in state funds.

-Bridge improvement over the Meramec River on Highway N. The project has $821,000 in federal funds and $205,000 in state funds.

The award date is 2027.
