Bourbon Man Charged With Domestic Assault
A Bourbon man who was on probation for domestic assault and theft was arrested March 2 after allegedly striking a victim win the face.
Benjamin Landa, 31, has been charged with third-degree domestic assault.
According to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Landa allegedly assaulted the victim in the 2000 block of Sappington Bridge Road on Feb. 19.
Landa was sentenced to five years probation in April 2022 for third-degree assault and stealing a truck.
The incident happened in January 2022.
Landa assaulted a family member and left the home on a bicycle.
He broke the window to a truck and fled the scene.
Landa was apprehended on Highway N, just outside the Bourbon city limits.
Three days after being arrested, Landa was mistakenly released from jail.
He was recaptured one day later.
Charges were not filed against him for leaving the jail facility.
Online court records show that probation violation reports were filed against Landa on Jan. 12, Jan. 13 and Feb. 22.
The Crawford County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on March 1 filed a motion to revoke Landa’s probation.
Landa is scheduled to appear in court March 9.
