Bourbon Fire, Village of Leasburg Receive American Rescue Plan Act Awards
Crawford County commissioners on Jan. 25 made two more awards from their American Rescue Plan Act funds.
Commissioners awarded $108,000 to the Bourbon Fire Protection District and $347,000 to the village of Leasburg.
District 2 Commissioner Jared Boast abstained from voting on both awards.
The fire protection district will purchase 20 new Scott self-contained breathing apparatus, which will allow for the replacement of aged equipment.
Each firefighter also will have their own.
The fire district matched approximately 10% of the funds.
Leasburg will use its funds to complete a rehabilitation of his water storage tank.
The money will pay for sandblasting all of the exterior surfaces and painting.
The village contributed approximately 15% in matching funds.
Taken all together, the county has doled out nearly $1 million from its $4.6 million allotment.
