Potential COVID-19 Exposures At Churches, KOC, Revival

Crawford County Health Department is providing notification of the following COVID-19 exposures:

August 8th, 2020: Private Event at The Ridge Church in Sullivan, MO and The Knights of Columbus Hall in Cuba, MO.

August 10th, 11th and 13th, 2020: Revival at the Lighthouse Gospel Tabernacle, Steelville, MO

August 12th, 2020 Center Ridge Pentecostal Church, Cherryville, MO

Due to the large number of people potentially exposed and the inability to identify close contacts we want to share this information so people can make informed decisions and to serve as a reminder to stay vigilant and keep practicing preventative measures to slow the spread of COVID-19.

If you suspect that you have COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, and are experiencing symptoms, stay home, isolate from others, especially those at higher risk of severe illness. Call your healthcare provider to let them know before seeking care.  It is critical that your provider is aware that you may have COVID-19 prior to your arrival at a healthcare facility, and that you follow all instructions for arriving at a healthcare facility.

These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

As cases and hospitalizations from COVID-19 continue to increase rapidly in Crawford County and surrounding areas we urge everyone to take this seriously and follow the steps that people can take to reduce their risk of getting any viral respiratory infections. These include:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Social Distance: Avoid close contact with others
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze
  • Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces
  • Wear a mask or cloth face covering when in public
  • Stay home when you don’t feel well, stay home after being tested for COVID-19

Crawford County is reporting 127 cases, up from 111 on Monday.
