Franklin County Reports 3 New Deaths, 87 Cases — Update On COVID-19 Vaccine

Franklin County reported three new COVID-19 deaths on Thursday.

They are identified as a 57-year-old Washington woman; a 97-year-old Robertsville man and a 72-year-old Union woman.

The county has reported 112 deaths due in part to COVID-19.

Eighty-seven new cases were added to the county’s total.

Active cases in long-term care facilities rose to 25 and hospitalizations stand at 18.

The seven-day average of testing positivity rates rose to 20.9%.

Franklin County’s 10-day rolling total is 587 and the 14-day average of new cases is 57.

Vaccine

Presiding Commissioner Tim Brinker said on Wednesday that 2,222 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered and 2,044 in Franklin County.

“Roughly 2% of our county has received their first dose!” Brinker said. “This is such welcome news and an incredible step into the light.”
