County Reports 33rd COVID-19-Related Death
Franklin County reported a COVID-19-related death for the second straight day on Thursday, saying a 75-year-old Washington woman is the 33rd resident to die from the disease.
This follows a 96-year-old Pacific woman’s reported death on Wednesday.
Franklin County reported 18 deaths through the first five months of the pandemic, but have counted 15 since Aug. 15.
In addition, the county said there are 51 new cases and 22 people are hospitalized, up from 20 on Wednesday.
Thursday’s batch of cases includes four Sullivan teens, a 12-year-old male and a 4-year-old female.
The county has reported 2,255 cases total, with 313 over the last 10 days.
The 14-day average of new cases is 28.57.
There are 26 active cases in long-term care facilities.
The testing positivity rate is 6.4% and over the last 14 days it is 7.9%.
