County Reports 10 New COVID-19 Cases, 6 Deaths

Franklin County reported six deaths related to COVID-19 on Thursday.

The deaths happened between Dec. 22 and Feb. 7.

According to the county health department, the residents are identified as:

75 yo Male, Union
79 yo Female, Gerald
86 yo Male, Washington
71 yo Male, Union
83 yo Male, Pacific
80 yo Male, Washington

To date, Franklin County has lost 153 residents in the confirmed category and 23 residents in the probable category due in part to COVID-19.

In addition, the county reported 10 new cases. The total rose to 8,942. There are 1,825 probable cases.

Probable cases and deaths are added when antigen testing detects proteins specific to the virus and are tracked and investigated by the health department.

Probable cases and deaths have not been confirmed by molecular tests.

Hospitalizations dropped to two.

There are five active cases in long-term care facilities.

The seven-day positivity rate is 9.2%.
