City Clarifies Questions On Curfew’s Being Rumored

Sullivan City Administrator J.T. Hardy has issued a statement to us regarding alleged rumors over free travel and curfews.

First is there a 3 p.m. curfew in the City of Sullivan?

“The City of Sullivan has not changed the current curfew hours nor instituted any new curfew hours due to the COVID-19 virus. We are unaware of any stricter County, State, or Federal curfew.

Section 210.675 Curfew For Juveniles:

A. It shall be unlawful for any person under seventeen (17) to be or remain in or upon a public place within the City of Sullivan, Missouri, during the period ending at 6 a.m. and beginning: 1. At 11:59 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights: and 2. 11 p.m. on all other nights.”

2. Do people need papers to travel in the City of Sullivan stating that I am an essential employee or on essential business?

“No. We are unaware of any County, State, or Federal requirement that only essential travel is allowed.”
