Steelville Resident Charged With Assaulting Two Children

Two Crawford County children who reportedly left their home out of fear of a parent prompted an investigation from the Missouri Children's Division.

A resident has been charged with abuse or neglect of a child.

They have been released on bond.

The incident that prompted an investigation allegedly occured Jan. 8 in Cuba.

Authorities began investigating March 21.

The children have been removed from the home, though the probable cause statement says the parent has allegedly been seeking their whereabouts.

The parent has previous convictions for assault, driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.

Several orders of protection also have been filed against the parent.
