Iowa Man Charged In DWI Crash At Bass Resort

Charges were filed last week against an Iowa man who was allegedly intoxicated when he crashed his vehicle at Bass River Resort in September, resulting in the death of a passenger.

Joshua Bowen, 26, Bettendorf, Iowa, has been charged with driving while intoxicated — death of another.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Bowen was driving a 2015 Ford F-150 when he struck a bump.

Matthew Hedrick, 27, Aledo, Ill., was sitting on the tailgate. He fell off and struck the ground.

Hedrick was flown to a St. Louis hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:31 p.m.

The probable cause statement said Hedrick struck his head against the gravel.
