Crawford County Sales Tax Begins 2022 Up 21%

Crawford County’s general revenue sales tax continues to climb upwards.

The county brought in $218,544.72 to begin 2022. That’s up 21% year-over-year.

Sales tax collection reflects December 2021 spending.

Crawford County has seen year-over-year totals rise all but once since July 2021.

The county had year-over-year increases October through December.

The most recent collection is the highest January total ever recorded.

Since the county’s sales tax increase went into effect in October 2018, collection for January has been $187,156 (2019), $206,385 (2020) and $180,004 (2021).

The law enforcement and capital improvement sales taxes are separate taxes.

Both funds brought in $105,600 for January, an 18% rise.

The county saw a collection of $88,826 in both funds last year.
