Crawford County Sales Tax Up Again For March

Crawford County’s general revenue sales nudged up again for March.

The county finished with a 4.8 percent year-over-year increase, tallying $232,313.86. Last year, the county collected $221,508.96 for March.

Sales tax has been up four straight months.

Crawford County has amassed $883,183.61 to start 2023. At this point in 2022, the county had collected $784,569.

The collection was up 3.5 percent for December, 26.6 percent for January and 19.9 percent for February.

The capital improvement and law enforcement sales taxes are separate.

Both taxes were slightly up for March at 2.3 percent.

The tax collected $107,819.54 for each fund.

Last year, the county brought in $105,318.59 for March.

The taxes have been up 2.2 percent for December, 26.4 percent for January, and 22 percent for February.

So far this year, each fund has collected $417,997.56.

State

State Budget Director Dan Haug said net general revenue collections for March 2023 increased 3.5 percent compared to those for March 2022, from $926.9 million last year to $959.7 million this year.

Net general revenue collections for 2023 fiscal year-to-date increased 11.9 percent compared to March 2022, from 8.29 billion last year to $9.27 billion this year.
