Crawford County Maintaining “Complete Solvency”

Crawford County commissioners passed the 2022 budget on Jan. 25 — a balanced budget that Clerk John Martin says maintains “complete solvency.”

The budget stands at $13 million, with $5.9 million of that general revenue.

General revenue includes budgets for the commission, clerk, elections, treasurer, collector, recorder, public administrator, health department, circuit court, prosecuting attorney, coroner, sheriff’s department, facilities management and general revenue administration.

The general revenue budget shows a $35,739 surplus and the projected year-end balance is $1.3 million.

“All bills are paid in full and on time; no outstanding debts are owed; and emergencies are manageable, at least for the moment,” Martin wrote in his budget message.
