COVID-19 Cases Fading As November Begins

Crawford County’s COVID-19 cases are fading as November gets underway, a stark contrast to last year.

The county reported 17 cases for the week ending Nov. 2.

It represents a 34% week-over-week decline, even as testing nudged up a half point.

The seven-day positivity rate was 6.2% -- a 2.2% drop.

Around this time in 2020, the county was averaging over 20 new cases per day.

State

Crawford County’s COVID-19 cases mirror a decline across the state, though it’s been noticeably smaller.

The state reported 4,844 new cases for the week ending Nov. 2, a modest 1.2% decline week-over-week.

Missouri averaged 692 new cases per day.

There was no change in the positivity rate at 6.6%. Missouri also registered a 1.8% drop in testing.

The state has confirmed 706,928 cases and 12,218 deaths.

Hospitalizations

There were 1,008 people hospitalized with COVID-19 as of Nov. 2.

Missouri reported 247 people in ICUs.

Both numbers continue to decline from August waves.

In the St. Louis region, 497 people were hospitalized and 119 are in ICUs.
