County Sales Tax Rises 9%
Crawford County’s general revenue sales tax was up 9% year-over-year in February.
The county collected $220,792.14, up from $200,906.39 in February 2020.
Through the first three months of 2021, Crawford County has hauled in $552,411.60.
If the sales tax continues its current pace, the county would collect more than $2.2 million in 2021, down from its $2.4 million haul in 2020.
The sales tax was down 12% in December, but rebounded with a 31% year-over-year jump in January.
In the state of Missouri, sales and use tax collection dropped 5.7% for the month.

The law enforcement and capital improvement sales taxes increased 6.71%, respectively.
Both taxes collected more than $106,000 for their respective county funds.
February 2020 collection was more than $99,000.
The tax jumped 28% year-over-year in January, but was down 9.82% in December.
