County Sales Tax Dips In January

Crawford County reported a year-over-year dip in its general revenue sales tax in January, posting a collection of $115,648.04.

In January 2019, the county collected $138,678.40. 

Without the half-cent sales tax increase factored in, the county would have brought in just $58,759.41 and would have been the lowest total since January 2016.

Through the first two months of the year, the county has brought in around $322,033. During the first two months of 2019, the county collected around $325,834.

Crawford County showed a 10 percent increase year-over-year in December and collected around $205,000.

The law enforcement and capital improvement sales taxes were around $57,162.31. The capital improvement tax was three cents less.

That number is down from $98,495.45 in December and a year-over-year decrease from January 2019.

It’s the lowest January figure since 2017 when the taxes brought in $55,119.15.
