County Sales Tax Up 11% Year-Over-Year

Crawford County’s general revenue sales tax continues to post year-over-year gains.

According to the latest report, the county saw January spending rise 11% year-over-year.

In January 2021, the county generated $151,615, which rose to $169,567 in January 2022.

January revenue comes after the county posted a 21% year-over-year gain in December.

So far through 2022, the county has seen revenue up 16% year-over-year compared to 2021.

The county has collected just over $388,000, up from $331,000 in 2021 and $321,000 in 2020.

Crawford County hasn’t seen sales tax decline year-over-year since August, though that was just a minor dip of $7,000.

Revenue was up for the law enforcement and capital improvement sales taxes.

The two separate taxes brought in more than $80,000, up from $73,000 in 2021 and $57,000 in 2020.

January revenue was up nearly 10% year-over-year.

That comes after revenue was up 18% year-over-year.

The county has brought in more than $186,000 for the funds through 2022.
