County Reports 68 New COVID-19 Cases, Positivity Rate Unchanged

Crawford County reported 68 new COVID-19 cases for the week ending Aug. 4, while the seven-day positivity rate was unchanged at 21.8%.

The number of cases is 28th highest in the state in terms of volume and 32nd highest per 100,000 people.

The positivity rate is 23rd highest.

Crawford County has confirmed 2,575 cases and 368 probable cases have been reported.

Forty-one people have died.

State

Cases continue to escalate statewide.

Missouri averaged 2,069 cases for the week ending Aug. 4

The numbers remain below the winter’s peak, but are up from more than 1,800 as the daily average a week prior.

Missouri totaled 14,483 cases for the week, with another 4,215 probable cases.

The state also added 51 more deaths.

Missouri has recorded 585,525 total cases, 114,309 probable cases and 9,827 deaths.

The seven-day positivity rate was 15%.

Vaccinations

The seven-day average for vaccinations was nearly 13,000, up from 11,000 a week earlier.

Among the entire population, 49.1% have initiated vaccination and only 42% have completed it.

Those numbers rise to 59.9% initiating and 51.7% completing when considering those 18 and older.

Missouri has administered more than 5.4 million doses.

Crawford County has seen 27.9% of its population initiate the vaccine, while 23.4% have completed it.

In Franklin County, 47.5% have initiated the vaccine and 42.2% have completed it.

Hospitalizations

Hospitalizations increased by nearly 250 week-over-week.

There were 1,916 people hospitalized on July 28 and 2,163 people hospitalized on Aug. 4.

ICU admissions increased from 560 to 657.

The St. Louis region is now accounting for more than a quarter of hospitalizations across the state, with 690. That’s up from 576 on July 28.

ICU admissions increased from 138 to 178. ICU bed capacity is down to 12%.
