County Reports 62 New COVID-19 Cases

COVID-19 cases rose again in Crawford County, with 62 new infections being reported for the week ending July 28.

The county is averaging nine new cases per day and the seven-day positivity rate has soared to 21.7%, the 28th highest in the state.

Crawford County’s weekly percentage change  of 3.8% in positivity rate is sixth highest and the 51.2% increase in cases is 20th highest.

The county is still below last winter’s peak when more than 20 cases were being detected per day.

Crawford County has reported 2,508 cases, 352 probable cases and 41 deaths.

State

Missouri averaged 1,885 daily cases for the week ending July 28.

Average daily cases are now similar to where the state was in early January.

The state reported a total of 13,193 new cases and 3,903 probable cases.

There were 34 new deaths reported.

Missouri has confirmed 569,796 cases, 109,785 probable cases and 9,667 deaths.

The seven-day positivity rate remains unchanged at 14.7%.

Vaccination

Vaccinations have slightly increased, with the seven-day average at more than 11,000.

Nearly 3 million Missourians have initiated the vaccine — 48.1%.

Another 2.5 million have completed the regimen — 41.3%.

The total rises to 58.9% of Missourians 18 and older who have initiated and 51% for those who have completed.

In Crawford County, only 27.2% have initiated the vaccine and 22.9% have completed it.

In Franklin County, 46.6% have initiated the vaccine and 41.5% have completed it.

Hospitalizations

At its peak, Missouri had more than 2,800 patients hospitalized with COVID-19.

As of July 28, there were 1,916 hospitalizations.

There were 570 patients in ICU.

In the southwestern region, there were 601 people hospitalized and 230 in ICUs.

The St. Louis region had 576 patients hospitalized and 138 patients in ICU.
