County Reports 58 New COVID-19 Cases, Two Deaths

Crawford County reported 58 new COVID-19 cases for the week ending Aug. 31.

Two more deaths were reported during that time.

Crawford County has lost 45 residents due in part to COVID-19.

The county has totaled 2,792 cases and 429 probable cases.

The seven-day positivity rate was 11.9%, down from 12.7% week-over-week.

Crawford County saw nearly a 5% drop in cases week-over-week.

Testing declined by 7.4%.

State

Missouri continues to see cases decline across the state.

After averaging more than 2,100 new cases per day at the beginning of August, the state reported an average of 1,556 per day for the week ending Aug. 31.

Week-over-week, cases declined by close to 12% and the seven-day positivity rate fell to 11.8%, a 1.3% drop.

Testing dropped 2.7%.

Missouri reported a total of 10,964 cases for the week.

The state has confirmed 636,377 cases, 130,123 probable cases and 10,651 deaths.

There were 48 new deaths reported.

Vaccinations

Missouri vaccinated an average of 12,983 people per day for the week ending Aug. 31.

A full 52% of the total population has initiated the vaccine and 45.4% have completed it.

Among those 18 and older, 63.1% have initiated the vaccine and 55.4% have completed it.

Hospitalizations

There were 2,158 people hospitalized as of Aug. 31.

Of those, 587 are in the ICU.

Statewide, Missouri’s ICUs are 86% full.

The St. Louis region has 842 people hospitalized and 190 people in ICUs.

ICU capacity is down to 10%.
