County’s COVID-19 Total Rises To 481

Crawford County added 56 new COVID-19 cases over the last week as its total rose from 425 to 481.

The total by volume still ranks 56th in the state.

Crawford County’s overall positivity rate is still 10%. Over the last seven days, it has been 16.5%, which ranks 70th in the state.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services said there have been seven deaths overall and none over the last seven days.

According to data from the Crawford County Health Department on Friday, there are 48 active cases.

Congregate Living

Crawford County said as of Friday, there are 11 active cases among residents here who live in congregate facilities, including long-term care and jails. 

The county has recorded 116 cases in these facilities, with 98 residents and 18 staff members testing positive.

State

Missouri has reported more than 9,000 cases over the last seven days, bringing the total to 144,230.

There were 132,431 as of Oct. 4.

Missouri’s number of new cases over the last seven days ranks eighth in the United States.

The 62 deaths reported ranks seventh in the country over that time frame and the positivity rate is 14%.

DHSS reports that St. Louis County has had the highest number of total cases in the last week at 847.

Barton County, located north of Joplin, has the state’s highest positivity rate in the last week at 44.1%.

Pemiscot County, located in the Bootheel, is first in the state in total positivity rate at 20%.

Counties

Franklin County has 2,073 cases, up from 1,946 last week. The county ranks 15th in the state by volume.

Phelps County’s case numbers have grown from 509 to 589. The volume is 46th in the state.

Washington County added another 77 cases, growing from 477 to 544.

Dent County climbed from 148 to 197.

Gasconade County recorded 20 more cases, going from 166 to 186.

Iron County is up to 73 cases after reporting 61 last week. The county is 108th in the state by volume.
