City Rejects Pine Street Bids
The Bourbon Board of Aldermen has rejected bids to replace water lines on Pine Street and will instead seek new bids.
Only two bids were submitted during the window, one short of the three required under the terms of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
Bourbon will re-work the bids and allow companies to try again. A bid opening is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 7.
Replacing the water lines is the second part of the Pine Street project. Under engineer Dick Ramstein’s 2017 report, the city ws looking to replace 1,367 linear feet of lines, 24 service connections and eight valves.
Bourbon is two months removed from having sewer lines replaced, which was performed by PJ Myers Hauling & Excavating.
Work on the water portion of the project should take a few weeks. The next phase is the street.
