Girls Soccer Loses To Jays And Indians On The Road
Girls Soccer struggled to continue their momentum in a 5-0 loss to Washington (11-7) and a 2-1 fall to Pacific (12-2-1) on back-to-back days.
With three games left on the schedule, head coach Matt Wiegers hopes to see the Lady Eagles return to the same explosiveness they experienced in their Owensville Invitational win the week before. He stated, “We are at our best when our offense gives us a chance in games, even though we lost both games this week. There was a contrast between scoring no goals and losing against Washington, and scoring one goal and losing a very tight game against Pacific. If our offense does its job, our defense will take care of the rest.”
Washington
The Lady Blue Jays shut out Sullivan with five goals on Monday, Apr. 29.
Lady Eagles goalie Maria Schatzl recorded a season-high 15 saves against Washington.
Molly Lohden and Cambria Pohlman both racked up three shots, while Jada Adams had two.
Pacific
The Lady Indians skimmed by Sullivan for a 2-1 win on Tuesday, Apr. 30.
Lohden fired in the only goal for the Lady Eagles. She had a team-high three shots.
Pohlman assisted her on the score. She also pulled off two shots.
Tessa Newman and Ella Kirk attempted a shot.
