Bailey E. Hartzell, 22, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Bailey Erin, beloved daughter of James Burl and Jennifer Lynn (Smith) Hartzell, was born on April 30, 2001, in Sullivan, Missouri. She grew up in Sullivan and attended school through the seventh grade, when she became home schooled as a result of health issues and many hospital stays.

Bailey loved animals, especially her three cats, and enjoyed family vacations to the beach and road trips.   She was a huge Anime fan and loved listening to K-Pop music.  She collected Anime figures and key chains.  Bailey enjoyed playing the Sims on her computer and playing Splatoon on her Nintendo Switch.

Bailey was the apple of her family’s eye.  Her parents had dreamed of having a baby girl and started to think it wouldn’t happen when Bailey came along.  Her two older brothers doted on her, while acting as her bodyguards.  She was the sweetest and most caring person ever put on this earth.  A lot of people probably don’t know that Bailey loved to tell “Yo Mama” jokes!

Bailey is survived by her parents, James and Jennifer Hartzell of Sullivan, MO; two brothers, Devin Hartzell of Sullivan, MO, and Nicholas Wildy of Columbia, MO; paternal grandparents, James and Judy Hartzell of Sullivan, MO; uncle, Bryan Smith and wife Angela of Steelville, MO; aunts: Dianna Bartle and significant other Jeff Blanton of Sullivan, MO, Sarah Downey of Sullivan, MO, and Laura Smith of Park Hills, MO; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.

Bailey was preceded in death by her grandmother Cynthia Roux.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 PM, Monday April 8, 2024 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO, with Pastor John Blackmore officiating.

Visitation for Bailey will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday, April 8, 2024, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.
