SHS Students Make All-District Band, Choir

In September, more than 450 students auditioned for the East Central All District choir and eight Sullivan High School students were selected. They are sophomores, Donovan Counts, Hanna Johanning, Wyatt Medlock, and Samantha Record, juniors, Evan Podner, and seniors, Anna Pendergrass, Taelor Mercer, and Makenzie Sisney. Of these eight students, four were eligible to audition for the Missouri All-State choir on Tuesday, November 13.

On Tuesday, November 6, 260 band students auditioned for the East Central All District band. Nine Sullivan High School students were selected. Senior, Cody Traxler-4th chair clarinet, freshman, Brady Whaley-15th chair clarinet, senior, Taelor Mercer 18th chair clarinet, junior, Emmy Schmidt- 3rd chair alto saxophone, junior, Emily Martin-4th chair french horn, sophomore, Samantha Record-3rd chair trumpet, sophomore, Wyatt Medlock-5th chair trumpet, senior, Makenzie Sisney-1st chair trombone, senior, and Sarah Fortner-Option 2 (mallet percussion). All nine of these students are eligible to move on and audition for the All State band on Saturday, December 1 in Columbia.

It is very exciting to choir director Natalie Moore, and band directors Chuck Moore and Joey Musterman to have four of these students who were selected into both the all-district choir and the all-district band. The concert for the all-district choir is in Ste. Genevieve on Saturday, November 17 at 4 p.m. and the all-district band concert was on Saturday, November 10 at Fox High School.
