Sullivan Chamber Shutting Down Until April 3

The Sullivan Area Chamber of Commerce will be closing the office until Friday, April 3 to help limit the possible spread of COVID-19.

Executive Director Shawna Speaks said the office will not be open to the public.

All chamber activities such as ribbon cuttings, luncheon, etc will be canceled through April 17.  If there is an extension of delays you will be notified accordingly.  Speaks will be available through the chamber phone line, email and Facebook to make sure our members' needs are being taken care of.

"We will continue to be looking for resources from the state and federal administrations to assist our members during this time," Speaks said.

She attended a conference call conducted by the Missouri State Chamber of Commerce and Industry Federation in regard to information and resources for members.

The Missouri Chamber Federation has resources available at this time and can be found at https://mochamber.com/coronavirus/

Federal and state programs and policies are being explored in various fields that may potentially become available to alleviate the hardship our members are or will be facing.

"As more information and resources become readily available we will be emailing the information out and posting updates to both of our Facebook pages," Speaks said.

"Please remember our small businesses that are diligently taking every precautionary measure to ensure that they can still serve our community and it is our hope here at the chamber office that you continue to utilize their services," Speaks said. "It is important to support our local businesses as much as possible and use necessary measures to ensure the healthy well being of the business employees and our community. "

Speaks thanks residents for their understanding as they continue to work through these unpredictable challenges.

"We know our business community is facing difficult times right now and encourage everyone to work together to ensure our community stays strong through this.  If there is anything we can do for you, please let us know," she said.
