First Baptist Of Bourbon Welcomes New Pastor

First Baptist Church of Bourbon is pleased to announce Brother John Parker is their new pastor.

John and Joyce Parker have been serving the Lord together since the day they met at Missouri Baptist University. Brother John received a Bachelors degree focused on Biblical Counseling. Miss Joyce received her degree in Religion/Theology.

Here or some of the ways Brother John believes God has graciously gifted him-

• Passionate expository preacher. He loves to mine the depths of God’s Word.

• A shepherd’s heart desiring to always point God’s people into Christ-likeness through prayer, Bible reading and other spiritual disciplines.

• A desire to be welcoming to all in his ministry no matter their class, past, race or gender.

• A love to evangelize the lost with a clear, explicit gospel in a loving, patient environment.

Pastor John loves the truth of God’s Word and its power to change, comfort, encourage and sanctify. This leads him to be passionate about preaching, counseling, discipleship and theology. 

Brother John and Miss Joyce have seven children: Abagail, Daniel, Carol, William, Evan, Libby and Phin. They look forward to serving God and the community.
