Pizza Hut and Petals and Plants, both of Sullivan, held their grand prize drawing on Mon., Feb. 15. Don Richards who had ordered flowers for his fiancé was hopeful that his name would be drawn.
When contacted by the florist to inform him of the grand prize win, Richards stated, “Are you kidding me? This is so wonderful, I can’t believe it. I never win anything.” His excitement was obvious.

A 42-year career working for the State of Missouri Conservation Department Forestry Division will come to an end on Friday, Feb. 26, as Leo Sanders retires as Resource Forest Technician Supervisor of the Leasburg forestry division. Sanders will not leave the public eye though as he plans to run for Crawford County Presiding Commissioner and file on Tuesday, Feb. 23.

It appears the City of Sullivan will not consider selling their electric department to a private company after the council al but shot down a proposal to seek bids to determine the value of the city electric department/service.

A local high energy rock-n-roll band hailing from Sullivan is quickly making their mark on the area music scene.
Breakdances With Wolves, formed in March 2009, captured a Battle of the Bands benefit show at “The Crux” concert venue and church located in Washington off Highway A, Saturday, Feb. 13.
The band battled 12 other bands in the competition to capture first place which included winning a 5X8 enclosed trailer.
