Bartle Sullivan Police discovered an active methamphetamine lab at 349 Maple St. on Sunday night, Feb. 19,  at 10:24 p.m. Officers responded to the area and located an active methamphetamine lab and meth components at the home. On February 16, Franklin County Deputies responded to a residence on Hwy AC near Spring Bluff in reference to a suspicious person. At approximately 7:17 p.m., on February 16, deputies responded to the 3000 block of Kaiser Hill Road in reference to a possible burglary in progress. The reporting party stated that he observed two white males, one wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, the other a T-shirt trying to get in to his basement. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Union Police are conducting an investigation related to allegations of a sexual assault involving a Union Middle School student and teacher. The report was initially reported to Union Police but determined to have allegedly occurred outside the city limits. Victim and suspect details are not being released at this point. Over the past few weeks the Sheriff’s Office has received numerous complaints from Franklin County citizens related to individuals conducting what they consider to be high-pressure sales tactics by the sellers. Sheriff’s Deputies have made contact with the sellers and advised them of the complaints made against them. On February 15, at approximately 6:30 PM, a Franklin County Deputy responded to a residence located in the 6000 block of Hwy O in reference to a burglary. The home owner reported coming home finding a broken window and weapons with ammunition missing from his residence. The deputy began searching the area for evidence.
