Bartle Sullivan Police discovered an active methamphetamine lab at 349 Maple St. on Sunday night, Feb. 19, at 10:24 p.m. Officers responded to the area and located an active methamphetamine lab and meth components at the home. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Union Police are conducting an investigation related to allegations of a sexual assault involving a Union Middle School student and teacher. The report was initially reported to Union Police but determined to have allegedly occurred outside the city limits. Victim and suspect details are not being released at this point. Over the past few weeks the Sheriff’s Office has received numerous complaints from Franklin County citizens related to individuals conducting what they consider to be high-pressure sales tactics by the sellers. On February 15, at approximately 6:30 PM, a Franklin County Deputy responded to a residence located in the 6000 block of Hwy O in reference to a burglary.
