Meramec Caverns has announced a new opening date of May 29 for its Caveman Zipline. The construction timeline on the first zipline in the metro area has been extended due to rain and weather conditions, which have delayed on-site fabrication of the final tower.
Memorial Day weekend is when guests can experience this high-adrenaline, extreme adventure. Reservations are recommended and are accepted now by calling 573-468-3166.

Registration is open until Wed., Apr. 28 for Confidently Home Alone, a workshop for children ages 9 to 13 who supervise themselves at home for part of the day.
In the class, children learn essential self-care and self-protection skills, including how to handle emergencies, phone calls and visitors, and protect themselves from abuse. Parents and children also will learn how to negotiate household rules.
