The Geography Bee at St. Anthony School contained some very difficult and challenging questions, but it took place without a glitch. The winners from Grades 4-8 were involved in the Geo Bee, with ten students participating. Students were eliminated from the bee depending on whether they could respond correctly to the intriguing questions.

Anna L. Schmidt of Sullian, MO passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the age of 97 years.
Mrs. Schmidt was born in Sullivan, MO on October 9, 1914 to Joseph and Letha (Blankenship) Thurmond. She was a lifelong resident of the Sullivan area and in August of 1934 was married to Hadley A. Schmidt.

It’s been some time since the Sullivan City Council has changed the ward boundaries in the City of Sullivan and it appears that the changes may come as soon as Tuesday night, Dec. 6.
The council was scheduled to vote on Bill. No. 3506, which would realign the boundaries in the city provided from the 2010 Census Bureau.

Starting Mar. 1, Missourians will be able to buy most hunting and fishing permits at home, using the Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) new e-Permits system. The system will allow hunters, anglers and trappers to print permits on regular computer printers and have them in hand immediately.

Otis L. Armstrong of Sullivan, MO passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the age of 72 years.
