One night after taking an 18-point drubbing to the Pacific Indians, Sullivan rebounded with a 47-41 victory over Hermann to take third place in the Owensville Tournament.
Patrick Moody scored 13 points to lead the Eagles (5-6) to their fifth win of the season and a 2-1 start to 2012.

Sullivan fended off a big comeback from Rolla on Saturday, securing third place with a 50-49 win at the Lady Bulldogs Invitational.
Aley Lucas hit a long jumper with 26 seconds left to give Sullivan the last and final lead of the game. The two teams swapped leads twice in the last couple of minutes.

Pacific defeated Sullivan 68-50 on Friday night in the semifinals of the Owensville Tournament behind 33 points from freshman Cullen VanLeer, a one-man wrecking crew who helped lift the Indians to an appearance in the championship game.

In a big win on Thursday night, the Eagles wrestling team defeated St. Clair, 40-36.
It was another big night for Sullivan, which has had big success to the season thus far.

In a rematch of the 2011 Rolla Tournament championship, Sullivan lost to Hickman, 46-37. The loss snapped Sullivan’s winning streak at six.
Sullivan defeated Waynesville 36-22 on Wednesday night in their first game since Dec. 19.
After the loss to Hickman tonight, the Lady Eagles are 1-1 in pool play with a +3 point differential. Hickman is 2-0. The Lady Kewpies knocked off Waynesville 49-37.

Sullivan did not seem too rusty in their first game since Dec. 20.
In the opening round of the 23rd annual Owensville Tournament Monday, the Eagles (4-5) advanced to the semifinals with a 60-49 win over fifth-seeded St. Louis Christian Academy.
A balanced scoring attack helped the Eagles over their opponents from St. Louis, who came into the game as something of a mystery team.

Strain-Japan Basketball “B” Team Lady Leopards took second place at Our Lady of Lourdes basketball tournament. During the first round, the girls played St. Gertrude, winning 54-10. Calling all boys and girls ages 10 through 14. The Fr. Paul Sutter Council #4858 is sponsoring a local level free throw competition this Saturday morning, Jan. 7. The competition will be held at the St. Anthony Catholic School gym in Sullivan.
