Sullivan fire is assisting Cuba fire on a major commercial structure fire off Highway 19. Fire began before 1 pm Friday at the Tennyson Plaza, 609 North Franklin St. Cuba. Eagles Improve Times At Nike Fleet Feet

Several Sullivan cross country runners made strides from a year ago Thursday at the Nike Fleet Feet Classic in Arnold. Devon Kerckhoff was the boys highest finisher, taking 26th place, while freshman Carter Adams made his varsity debut by taking 30th. Kerckhoff’s time was 11:14.11. Eagles Strike Quick, Defeat Crosspoint 4-1

Sullivan started quick and finished strong Thursday against Crosspoint Christian. The Eagles scored just 20 seconds into the game and rolled to a 4-1 victory against the Cougars to finish the first week of the season 2-0. Man Accused Of Threatening To Kill Deputy, Take Loaded Gun Into Jail

A man is accused of trying to bring a loaded gun into jail, threatening a deputy and saying that he should’ve used the weapon to kill the deputy. Steven R. Volner, 20, Springfield, has been charged with attempted assault on a law enforcement officer and attempt to possess a weapon in jail. He is being held on a $125,000 bond.
