David was born on January 10, 1957 to Richard Owen and Laura J. (Hoehne) Dunn in Kirkwood, MO. The Dunn family moved to the Sullivan area in 1967 when David was in the sixth grade in Spring Bluff. He graduated from Sullivan High school class of 1975. He continued his education and became a Journeyman Electrician, the trade he worked in until his death.
On July 4, 1979, David was married to Jane Kovalski in Sullivan and three children were born to their marriage; David, Kathryn and Cortney. David was first a family man. He loved his children and grandchildren and spoiled the grandchildren in every way he could, especially with cookies. He enjoyed working and restoring old tractors, riding horses and listening to “His” music. David was of the Lutheran faith.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Kovalski) Dunn of Sullivan; one son, David (Jessica) Dunn of Leslie; two daughters, Kathryn Dunn of Sullivan and Cortney Dunn of Washington; five grandchildren, Reece, Kennedy, Silas, Allison and David III; two brothers, Kenneth Dunn of Sullivan, Darryl (Shelby) Dunn of Sullivan; one sister, Donna (Sid) Giebler of Sullivan; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Laura (Hoehne) Dunn; two brothers and sisters in law, Rick and Margy Dunn and Russell and Sarah Dunn; and one nephew, R.D. Dunn.
Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Lew Ensor officiating. Interment will follow in Cave Spring Cemetery, Sullivan, MO.
Visitation was from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, at Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
