Salon Express Opens For Business In Downtown Sullivan

By James B. Bartle
For local hair stylist Patty Evans, her 32 year career as a hair stylist has come full circle as she once again is the proud owner of her own salon in Sullivan, Salon Express, 217 North Church St., in the former Hair Quarter’s location. Evans has spent all but four years of her 32-year career in Sullivan with the exception of a three year stint in Branson where she provided hair styles for several Branson stars.
Evans opened Salon Express recently and is joined by stylist Ashley Tubbs and Angel Evans. Her daughter, Vicky Evans is currently going to school at Xenon Academy in St. Louis, and will soon be joining the staff upon her graduation from the school.
“I really felt it was time to own my own salon again and wanted to build a business that my daughter could eventually take over once I’m ready to retire,” said Evans. “I had been working at Stylistic Salon but due to circumstances beyond my control I was no longer at that business which eventually closed.”
Salon Express is a full service salon offering coloring, highlighting, foiling, perms, manicures and waxing.
Evans really has enjoyed her career in hair styling and looks forward to many more years to come in the family business.
“I’d like to invite all my previous, present and future customers to visit our new salon and see what we have to offer,” said Evans. “I apologize to any of my previous customers who were displaced during my departure from the previous salon I was employed with.”
Salon Express is open Mon.-Thurs., 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
They can be reached by calling 573-468-5212.
