Grubville Man Nabbed In Vehicle Theft

On Wed., Jan. 30, Franklin County Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Hendricks Rd. in reference to subjects observed in the process of stealing a vehicle. The suspects fled prior to the arrival of the deputies however a witness obtained a license number and took a photo of the suspect’s vehicle before it left.
Authorities determined that the license was issued to an individual in Jefferson County. Franklin County Deputies and troopers who were assisting met with Jefferson County Deputies who then made contact with an adult at a residence in which the plate was registered. The mother of the homeowner reported that the license belonged to her son but believed it was in the possession of another individual.
Information gathered led officers to Jo Mamma’s bar in Jefferson County where they observed the suspect vehicle that was involved in the Franklin County theft.
It was determined at that point that the vehicle had been stolen out of St. Louis County.
Deputies located the suspect hiding in the attic of a shed near the bar.
The 36-year-old Grubville man was taken into custody for investigation of various theft charges. He later admitted to the thefts to authorities.
The suspects name is being withheld pending warrants.
