Bourbon Fire Fighters along with firefighters from Sullivan, St. Clair, and Cuba battled a house fire, Saturday evening at 3932 Rock Rd., in the Bourbon Fire Protection District.
The fire began at 4:58 p.m. at the home of Steve and Brittney Rogger.
“We arrived on the scene and observed heavy fire and smoke coming from the home,” said Bourbon Fire Chief Daniel Whatley. The fire began in the basement of the home and had extended up into the first floor of the home.
Twelve fire apparatus were used the bring the blaze under control at 5:58 p.m., according to Whatley. The fire caused extensive damage to both floors of the home.
“The cause of the fire is still undetermined at this time and foul play is not suspected,” said Whatley. “The incident remains under investigation by the Missouri State Fire Marshall’s Office.”
Whatley stated that all occupants were out of the home and uninjured in the incident.
