Barn Fire Destroys ATV’s Sunday

By James B. Bartle
A barn, along with contents inside including two ATV’s, was destroyed Sunday evening at 4:24 p.m. after a fire quickly spread through the structure.
Sullivan Fire Chief Rich White reported that firefighters were called to 11636 Hamilton Hollow Rd. for a barn fire.
“The barn was fully involved with fire when we arrived on the scene and we brought the fire under control at 5:46 p.m.,” said Sullivan Fire Chief Rich White. “The barn was a total loss along with the contents inside. The building was owned by Dean Wacker.”
The cause of the fire, according to investigators, appears to have been from an outside campfire.
The Sullivan Fire District was assisted by the St. Clair Fire District during the blaze by stationing at House 5.
The fire was fought by 14 firefighters and two apparatus.
