A warrant for Lawrence P. Maserang, owner of Maserang’s Wholesale in Bourbon, was issued on Thursday in the amount of $8,000.
Five people were arrested in total
Maserang is charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell drug paraphernalia, classified as class D felonies. He also has two separate counts of distribution of drug paraphernalia, four counts of distribution of a controlled substance, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of maintaining a public nuisance.
He was arrested in May and September in separate incidents.
According to the probable cause statement, on Monday, October 15, a narcotics investigator with the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group purchased a large assortment of glass smoking devices for $438 from Maserang at his store.
On October 24, the investigator purchased a large assortment of glass smoking devices, four digital scales and 11 postal scales for $806.64 from Maserang.
During Maserang’s arrest for his involvement with the sale, Maserang was informed by investigators that selling or distributing pipes was illegal. Maserang was told if he continued to participate in the sale of such devices, he could be arrested again.
The probable cause statement says that during the undercover investigation, Maserang made several statements regarding him opening other stores, storing the smoking devices at another location and hiding money to elude law enforcement.
Michael Arthur was arrested for two counts of possession with intent to sell drug paraphernalia.
Sarah Arthur was arrested for three counts of possession with intent to sell drug paraphernalia.
Steven Maserang was arrested for one charge of possession with intent to sell drug paraphernalia.
Julie Maserang was arrested for possession of marijuana, up to 35 grams. It is a class A misdemeanor.
