Dorothea James

Dorothea “Dot” James of Sullivan, MO passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the age of 77 years.
Dot was born on November 18, 1933 to the late Harold and Helen (Gangel) Linden of Kansas City, MO. On January 16, 1954, Dot was united in marriage to Larry James in Kansas City, and they were blessed with five children.
Larry and Dot enjoyed traveling in their fifth wheel, especially to Texas during the winters, family dinners, and get-togethers at their pool. Dot also liked to fish and was especially fond of her dog, Gracie, who never left her side.
Mrs. James was very close to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they were the joy of her life. Dot was a faithful member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
She is survived by two sons, Larry James and wife, Stacey, of Sullivan, MO and Rick James and wife, Ginger, of Lanesville, IN; two daughters, Lisa Whitaker and husband, Mike, of Sullivan, MO and Sherri Miller and husband, Tim, of Washington, MO; one sister, Beverly Bloess and husband, George, of Corpus Christi, TX: 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, and one daughter, Lynda James.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Paul Telken officiating. Interment was in Saint Anthony Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to HALO or Special Olympics in memory of Dot James.
